	abstract="{The starting point of the article is the polemic with the thesis attributing the rise of Greek pedagogical reflection to Pythagoras of Samos. Further on a review is presented on the latest studies on Pythagoreanism and their consequences for historical and pedagogical research, as well as an attempt to show the role and place of Pythagoras of Samos for the history of pedagogy and education.; Punktem wyjścia artykułu jest polemika z tezą przypisującą powstanie greckiej refleksji pedagogicznej Pitagorasowi z Samos.
