abstract="{This article is dedicated to the combination of ANSYS Workbench with calculation algo‑
rithms programmed with ANSYS MAPDL. These are required for the calculation of the highly
complex material combination and very large geometry with regard to their behaviour under
combined thermal‑mechanical loads. The results of the simulation are subsequently used for
structural optimisation using prestressing forces.
The aim is to develop an innovative approach for efficient high‑volume production
of thermoplastic fuselage skins. The idea is to create a mould for autoclave consolidation, including
an automated layup, assembly, and transport. A mould is usable for autoclave consolidation, e.g.
consolidation with the enhanced functionality for the heating and cooling, the consolidation
of thermoplastics at the process temperatures of 400°C. There are new challenges, such as large
thermal expansion. However, it offers an opportunity to reduce the cycle time and energy consump‑
tion significantly, thereby improving competitiveness. For the release of the autoclave consolidation,
adequate surface structures will be investigated by using ANSYS®‑Workbench. Furthermore, to
demonstrate the current possibilities of the topology optimization in software ANSYS ® the differ‑
ent ways of the optimization are conducted for the chosen part of the mould.}",
