abstract="{The chapter examines the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Poland, with GREVIO's 2021 Baseline Evaluation Report as a key reference point. Although the Convention has been in force in Poland since 2015, its application has been overshadowed by political controversy, particularly under the right-wing government (2015–2023), which portrayed it as a threat to traditional values. The chapter focuses on two interrelated issues: the persistent absence of a systemic, gender-sensitive approach to violence against women and developments in domestic violence legislation. While notable legal reforms have been introduced—such as the expansion of the domestic violence framework—core elements of the Convention, including its gender-based perspective, remain largely unaddressed. The chapter highlights the tensions between legal progress and political resistance and outlines the key challenges that continue to hinder the Convention's full implementation in Polan}",
