PL Imigranci po przybyciu do kraju przyjmującego muszą odnaleźć się w nowym otoczeniu. Proces ten w literaturze przedmiotu określa się mianem adaptacji. W jej toku dokonuje się akulturacja, która wiąże się z koniecznością wybrania przez cudzoziemców odpowiedniej strategii akulturacyjnej, a więc określenia sposobu funkcjonowania w nowym środowisku społeczno-kulturowym. Według badaczy najlepszą z nich jest integracja, ponieważ daje poczucie zakorzenienia w nieznanym kraju, jego kulturze i społeczeństwie oraz zapobiega wykluczeniu społecznemu. Niestety cudzoziemcy w nowym miejscu zamieszkania doświadczają wielu problemów, które utrudniają im proces integracji. W związku z tym należy podejmować działania, które pomogą imigrantom w radzeniu sobie z przeżywanymi trudnościami

EN Immigrants must find themselves in a new environment upon arrival in the host country. This process is described in the literature as adaptation. Acculturation is carried out in its course, which involves the need for foreigners to choose the appropriate acculturation strategy, and thus determine the way of functioning in the new socio-cultural environment. According to researchers, the best of them is integration, because it gives a sense of rooting in an unknown country, its culture and society and prevents social exclusion. Unfortunately, foreigners in the new place of residence experience many problems that hinder their integra tion process. Therefore, action should be taken to help immigrants deal with their hardships
