EN The Polish legal system includes regulations regarding the right to education and the broadly understood conditions of friendly inclusion for refugee children in the school environment. the influx of children with refugee experiences from Ukraine after February 24, 2022, posed a challenge for the Polish education system and a test for the construction and legal solutions concerning the functioning of foreign students in Polish schools. In working with these children, educational institutions utilized forms of support offered by education legislation, such as psychological and pedagogical assistance, Polish language lessons, remedial classes in particular subjects, and support from teacher assistants (cultural assistants). Schools took on the task of educating these children by assigning them to existing classes or qualifying them for preparatory classes. In the context of using existing inclusion mechanisms, the question arises about the scope of solutions that not only support children from Ukraine in adapting to the host country’s culture but also guarantee them the preservation of their own culture and language. What are the expectations of parents of children with refugee experiences, and what possibilities arise from normative solutions in this matter? The essential role of the indicated legal mechanisms should be to enable the pro-per course of inclusion of refugee children from Ukraine in the Polish educational system. This article, based on its own research findings, aims to discuss the methods of implementation and the role of these regulations regarding the inclusion of refugee students into primary schools in Gorzów.
