Abstract
EN The purpose of the article is to present the difficulties of verbal and non-verbal communication of immigrants residing in Poland and ways of dealing with them. the paper presents the results of own research and empirical investigations conducted by researchers dealing with the issue of immigration into our country. Acquiring the ability to communicate effectively with Poles is the primary task faced by foreigners settled in our country. Lack of ability to communicate in Polish and ignorance of the rules governing non-verbal communication in Poland generates many problems for the functioning of immigrants, especially in the social and economic spheres. It leads to many misunderstandings and reduces the chances of successful integration into the host society. Therefore, it is necessary for foreigners to take measures to help them break the language barrier.
