Abstract

EN Optimization of the industrial process of waterjet cutting has recently become an important research problem. In this area, multi-criteria decision support methods are used. Due to the wide selection of available methods, choosing the right one that meets the expectations and criteria of the process is a difficult task. The article presents a study of the effectiveness of various optimization methods. The aim of the article is to show the results of research conducted on the use of multi-criteria methods to optimize the production process in the example of high-pressure water jet cutting. The tests were carried out on details made of 21HMF steel using Garnet Barton HPX80 abrasive material. The achieved results are consistent with previous research and allow us to conclude that the use of these methods is important for the parameters of the waterjet cutting process. The difference is the maximum cutting depth. Among the MCDA methods used in the context of the balanced assessment paradigm of decision variants, the PROMETHEE method deserves special attention. Using six different preference functions, PROMETHEE allows solving a decision problem with higher and lower degrees of criteria compensation, provided that certain conditions are met by the preference model. It should also be noted that the use of thresholds in PROMETHEE allows the uncertainty of preferences to be taken into account in the decision problem in relation to, for example, the weight of process parameters. In addition, PROMETHEE allows you to perform sensitivity analysis to changes in criteria weights and changes in input data, which gives you the opportunity to analyze the reliability and robustness of the solution.
