Abstract

EN The article presents results of the research on design of novel, low-cost and wide-applicable solution to support testing and simulation of the industrial automation and control systems, implemented on the platform of industrial PLC controllers and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) panels. The application is intended for systems that are common equipment of laboratories of mechatronics, robotics, automation control and similar in secondary schools, technical universities, research laboratories and so on. The presented system was designed, implemented and tested with use of SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-1200 PLC, KTP700 Basic HMI panel and Totally Integrated Automation Portal (V17). Hardware configuration of the testing system is proposed and block structure of the implemented software solution is presented. The procedures and results of preliminary tests examples based on simple sequences using linear displacements are described and discussed. The control task scheme is discussed and the simulation procedure is presented. The obtained results of simulation are discussed along with the load of the control task on the controller in terms of program memory and data memory occupancy. Further work areas on the presented topic are indicated.
